Bhooteshwarnath’s glory is unique. On one side of this Chakratirtha, the very ancient Bhooteswarnath temple of Lord Shiva is present. He is also called “Kotwal of Naimisharanya” or the guard.
The penance place of Naimisharanya is the land of the miracles of Shiva. Many mythological pagodas are situated on the ground of this Tapovan. Shiva devotees throng these pagodas throughout the year. It is believed that Lord Brahma himself established the Bhooteshwarnath temple, and this Shivling changes its form three times a day. In the morning, it is reflected in the form of a child; in the afternoon, it is seen in an aggressive form; and in the evening, it appears in a peaceful form.
The priests say it fell to this place when Lord Brahma left his Brahma Manomaya Chakra. The Nemi of the Chakra, i.e. the axle, started piercing the earth, and then Lalita Shakti incarnated to stop that Nemi. Lalita Shakti held the Shivling, due to which Lalita Devi was named Ling Dharini.
Lord Brahma established this deity only to imbibe Shiv Shakti, which is st ill the centre of faith a mong the devotees due to its characteristics. The statue of Lord Vishnu is also there inside this Bhooteshwar Nath temple, which describes the speciality of this temple.
Bhooteshwarnath Temple is also included in the list of prominent places with particular importance in Naimisharanya. On the occasion of Shivratri, special worship and adornment a do all the wishes of the devotees are fulfilled
